Bamboo Philosophy

Bamboo Philosophy aims to inspire people who works hard to make their dreams come true, people who creates their reality, no matter where they’re from or in which industry they are.

I wanted to create a brand that reflect mindset- a Philosophy.

Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.

– Bruce Lee.

The Philosophy

Creating a successful business, music, piece of art, applications, requires a lot of skills, courage, determination, patience and perseverance. As we live in a world of easy and safe “instant gratification”, Bamboo Philosophy represents a down to earth vision of what it is to be the builder of your dream:

In order to grow, a Bamboo Tree requires daily watering, fertile soil, sunshine. In its first year, there is no visible signs of growth despite daily watering and care.

In the second, third and fourth year, there is no visible results. There is no sign that something is actually happening, we may begin to think of giving up, our patience and determination are tested.

Finally, the fifth year, a “miracle” is happening. The Bamboo Tree grows 65 feet in just five weeks.

The question is: does it take 5 years or 5 weeks to grow a bamboo tree? The answer is 5 years.

The bamboo shows us that patience, consistency and perseverance are the virtues to be successful.

The Principles

Bamboo Philosophy aims to inspire people based on the following principles:

  • Patience : It takes 5 years to grow a bamboo tree. Its growth teaches us that no matter what we are doing , we must be patient and consistent in our efforts.
  • Perseverance: Bamboos are neither the strongest nor the tallest type of plant. However, in extreme weather, bamboos tend to always survive typhoon, storms, harsh winter and hot summer.
Like most of us when we start, people ignores us thinking we are nobody and we can’t beat the “Big Guys”. Talk about Google to Yahoo…
  • Perseverance: Bamboos are able to survive harsh weather conditions like cold winter and hot summer. It reminds us: “Despite adversity, I will never give up”.
  • Creativity: Bamboo is used for many different purposes : plates, cups, chopsticks, furniture. Simplicity and Minimalism is a the heart of Bamboo Philosophy approach to design.

Bamboo Philosophy embodies a whole mindset that translates into inspirational design and minimalist aesthetic. We aim to spread positivism through the themes of entrepreneurship, art and lifestyle.
